When you design custom covers using Adobe Photoshop, then you sooner or later inevitably come across these so-called product mockups. These are clever Photoshop templates that allow you to visualize a certain product – in my case album covers – using your own artwork. They literally combine my passion for soundtracks and design.
I’ve started creating mockups early 2014 and since then it has turned into a real obsession of mine. Over time I have collected an insanely large number of different mockups and my collection is constantly growing. I’ve also attempted making my own mockups, but it is honestly a mad effort. Most of the times I’m purchasing or downloading royalty free mockups from the web. My primary focus is to make professional looking mockups of unique character, often times incorporating little details to make them stand out from the crowd.
Making these semi-realistic vinyl and CD designs has also led to some profitable freelance jobs which I am very grateful for.
Below you find a small selection of my work. There are many more, including alternate variants and some animated versions, scattered all over this blog. Just use the “Mockups” category on the main page and please, go check them out at full size!
