Hey, it’s SonicAdventure – again. Heidl asked me to feature my covers for Total Recall. And I thought he was having enough of me considering the covers I did for Poltergeist. I was hesitant and excited at the same time. Because the covers for this classic 1990 SciFi movie are not my usual boring crap. I did all the stuff I usually hate to do: re-arranging, cutting, cleaning, creating and mocking material. The reason? No idea. I love the score, I love the movie. And there exists a ton of gorgeous alternate poster material! This is no obscure movie like…

The following posts contain custom covers that are either replicating pre-existing album artworks or were heavily influenced by other original art.
“Poltergeist (The Deluxe Edition)” by Jerry Goldsmith
Hi! My name is SonicAdventure. Usually, I don’t do covers, at least not the ones you can see below. I’m a mastering engineer by trade; that is my hobby, my passion and sometimes my job. You’ve probably encountered one of my remasters before, after all, I collaborated with Heidl numerous times: he does the covers, I do the sound. But that hasn’t always been the case. A decade ago I started out doing everything on my own, including the covers. The reason for designing them was simple: I wanted to print them out and put them on the shelf alongside…
“Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” by Michael Giacchino
These last couple of weeks I’ve come to see more and more covers of mine being posted on social media – and more importantly – by composers and producers themselves. I didn’t realize that until now. And I immediately thought of all those rants and perhaps unjustified criticism that I’ve posted over the years. Sometimes I forget that composers (and maybe even studios…..) are real people too and they pour their heart and soul into their work. And we, the fans, just can’t stop moaning and nagging about everything. So I want to take this opportunity to say sorry to…
“Indiana Jones – The Sonic Adventure Collection” by John Williams
With this set I’m fulfilling the second out of five promises that I’ve teased on social media at new year’s eve. And it’s really great to finally be able to tick this off of my list. Indiana Jones has always been sort of like a holy grail for me and I’ve made a firm commitment to only start working on it, when I felt like having enough inspiration to turn it into something special (at least for me). It finally came in the form of my friend SonicAdventure, who offered me a collaboration for one of his established Deluxe Editions….
“Ready Player One” by Alan Silvestri
After my extensive foray into Stranger Realms I thought I’ve had it with tribute art and spoof covers. But then Steven Spielberg’s Ready Player One came along and with it a spontaneous idea quickly formed in my head: What about a custom covers series that puts its focus on famous cover art of old (and not so old) game cartridges? An idea I immediately became hooked on and apparently I wasn’t the only one. Just have a look on RP1’s poster campaign and tell me the character set isn’t supposed to look like Sega Mega Drive covers. It’s quite obvious,…
