“Stranger Things: Season Two” by Kyle Dixon, Michael Stein, Various Artists

If you’re following my facebook channel you may have already seen a lot of these covers. It was at the end of August when Netflix began to put out weekly Stranger Things tribute posters, each one resembling a famous movie from the past. Back then I was working on a new, massive sci-fi project and I felt a little exhausted designing inserts, back covers and disc labels. Any distraction felt like a welcome change. So I began to turn those posters into square album covers, if only to take a little breath. Though I didn’t realize the new heights this…

“Silicon Valley” by Jeff Cardoni, Various Artists

People often ask me “Heidl, you bloody thief!” I guess what they really mean is “Heidl, you bloody genius! I do not entirely agree on your liberal interpretation of the copyright policy. But I still frequent your blog on a daily basis. Cannot get enough of those beauties. You ROCK!” Well, thanks. I’m aware of the legal grey area I’m operating in. And while I do appreciate complete and expanded scores a lot, I’m a bit overwhelmed by that huge amount of music. But who am I to judge? I actually started working on this custom covers series before the official…

Lost Covers, Vol. 3

The unwanted brainchilds, the dispassionate requests, the okay’ish ones I guess and the late comers. Also the lone wolves that’d definitely deserve a single post but somehow didn’t end up in one. They all suffer the same fate: Being dumped into this consolation prize of a blog entry, without the chance of ever being the single featured image on the front page. For the third time now. I should rename this series into The Good, the Bad and the Tragically Misjudged. But Lost Covers rolls off the tongue more elegantly. Though not everything’s lost on these to be honest. This time I’ve included two covers, that rightfully deserve a gallery…
