In december 2015 US discount retailer Target sold an exclusive version of John Williams’ The Force Awakens score. And when I was asked to create custom covers in the same style for the rest of the saga, well, I couldn’t say no. But first I had to recreate the Target cover to get rid of that ugly sticker. And also, to prepare myself a universal template that I could use for previous and future episodes.
This request came right in the middle of working on another series, but I figured a little change won’t hurt. It keeps your creative spark on fire. So I was happily changing texts and titles and was already about to upload the covers, when I realised that every cover is meant to feature different characters within the logo. D’oh!
It took me half a day to find appropriate (and large enough) posters which I could use to cut out important characters or scenes. This whole thing was far more demanding than I had thought in the first place. And that’s also the reason why I devoted a separate post to it.
Three years later and I’m finally able to update this custom covers collection with an idea that has been on my mind since late 2019.
It all started from an old thread in the JWFan Forums, where a Star Wars compilation with all concert suites was discussed. This is certainly not a new idea, Star Wars samplers are a dime a dozen, however, at that time the image of an official, DisneyTM-approved compilation had formed in my mind, which I now finally was able to ban on digital paper.
The Star Wars – The Complete Saga Target Exclusive Box Set! This thought up collector’s edition comes with a few distinguishing characteristics that you won’t find anywhere else. First, it re-issues the original releases of each of the nine soundtrack albums (no Special Editions!) which is why this deluxe box set is deliberately not intended for completionists, but for purists and true die-hard Star Wars fans who still listen to the 1977 Star Wars album, for example.
Another very exclusive and special feature is the inclusion of three additional CDs which feature the most iconic and best-loved highlights from each trilogy. A careful selection process has been conducted to ensure that each film and more importantly each trilogy is represented as best as possible.
The perfect background music for any sci-fi or fantasy nerd party!
The complete package comes in a thick cardboard slipcase box which houses all twelve CD digipacks. Evetything was manufactured from recycled organic paper originally produced for free tickets to Star Trek fan conventions, which unfortunately never came into use due to lack of demand.
Each soundtrack album was digitally enhanced and remastered (of course!) and does indeed deliver a sound quality unheard of. That’s why The Complete Saga is the first and only Star Wars soundtrack release worldwide to get the official WrG Records seal of approval (those of you in the know know….).
This Target exclusive is limited to very few copies and will only be sold in selected online stores and only on full that’s no moon nights between 19:77 and 20:19 o’clock. You won’t want to miss this!

The completionists among you may be happy to hear that rumor has it that yet another boxset is coming along. Only this time it’s supposedly featuring a whopping thirty discs(!) and more than 9 hours of unreleased Star Wars music(!!).
